The newly appointed President of the Association of Business Specialists and Entrepreneurs of Nigeria (ABSE), Dr. Abiso Kabir, has committed to leveraging agriculture as a key strategy to address unemployment and poverty in Nigeria.

In his inaugural speech, Dr. Kabir emphasised the association’s dedication to making Nigeria self-sufficient in agricultural production and increasing its capacity for export.

He highlighted ABSE’s intention to collaborate closely with both the government and private sector investors to create impactful solutions for the nation’s economic challenges.

Under his leadership, the association aims to provide strategic advice to the government and partner with individual companies to drive meaningful societal contributions.

Dr. Kabir, who was also honoured as a Fellow of the association, stressed the importance of making agriculture, particularly mechanised farming, attractive to the youth and women.

He believes that a strong commitment to agriculture is crucial for Nigeria’s progress, and with the involvement of these key demographics, the country can achieve self-sufficiency and become a significant exporter.

Dr. Kabir reiterated his commitment to addressing poverty and unemployment, expressing confidence that ABSE will play a vital role in promoting entrepreneurship and sustainability in Nigeria.

Earlier, Kenneth Oboh, the Registrar of ABSE, lauded Dr. Kabir’s contributions to entrepreneurship in Nigeria, noting his success in transforming lives from poverty to prosperity.

Oboh highlighted Dr. Kabir’s achievements in various sectors, including agro-preneurship, oil and gas, and international trade, which have empowered over 13,000 people in the country.
